Terms of use

Last updated: 12 October 2026

These terms apply when you use RetroForged ("the app") or octobotstudios.com. The app and site are provided by Octobot Studios Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17513714), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: support@octobotstudios.com.

By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms and to the Google Play Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your licence to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. The app is licensed, not sold. We, or our licensors, keep all rights in the app, its games, characters, artwork, music and code.

2. What you agree not to do

3. Free play, adverts and purchases

The games are free to play and the app shows adverts between some plays. You can buy optional digital content in the app, such as Remove Ads and, in future, expansion packs. Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy.

Purchases are processed by Google Play under its terms. Remove Ads is a one-off purchase that removes adverts for the life of the app on any device signed in to the same Google account. The app restores it automatically when it starts.

Digital content is supplied as soon as you buy it. You agree to this, and you acknowledge that you therefore lose the 14-day right to cancel that would otherwise apply. This does not affect your rights if the content is faulty. Refund requests can be made through Google Play, or by emailing us.

4. Updates and changes

We may update the app to fix problems, add games or worlds, or change features. Some updates may be needed to keep playing. Early Access games are works in progress, and their content may change before they are finished. We will not remove content you have paid for without offering a fair remedy.

5. Your saves

Your progress is stored on your device. We are not able to restore saves that are lost because of uninstalling, device failure or clearing app data, as we never receive them.

6. Our responsibility to you

We provide the app with reasonable care and skill, and as described. If digital content we supply is faulty, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which these terms do not affect.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for problems caused by your device, software or internet connection, or for business losses (the app is for personal use). Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

7. Ending these terms

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend your licence if you seriously break these terms.

8. Privacy

How we handle data is explained in our privacy policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app's release notes.

10. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU you keep the protection of your local consumer laws.
