Most answers are below. If yours is not, email support@octobotstudios.com. Every email is read by the person who made the game, usually within a couple of working days.
Does RetroForged really work offline?
Yes. Every game plays without an internet connection. Ads only appear when you happen to be online.
Is it free?
Yes. All 13 games are complete and free to play, and the app shows a short ad between some plays, never during one. In future we may offer optional expansion packs with brand-new levels and modes. They will always be extra content, never pieces of a game held back.
How do I remove the ads?
One purchase of £4.99 removes ads across the whole app, for good. On a new phone, install from Google Play with the same Google account and it comes back by itself.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no login. Progress, stars and high scores are saved on your device.
What data do you collect?
Anonymous gameplay statistics that you can switch off in Settings, plus what our ad partner needs to show ads. Full details are in our privacy policy.
Is it on iPhone?
Android first. Tell us at hello@octobotstudios.com if you want an iPhone version.
I bought Remove Ads but I still see ads.
The app checks your purchase each time it starts, so close it fully and reopen it with an internet connection. Make sure the phone is signed in to Google Play with the account you bought it on. If that does not fix it, email us with the order number from your Google Play receipt.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for purchases are handled by Google Play. Within 48 hours you can request one from your Google Play order history; after that, email us and we will help.
My progress has gone.
Progress is saved on your device, and Android can back it up to your Google account. If you reinstall on the same account with backup turned on, your saves usually come back. We cannot restore saves ourselves, because we never receive them.
A game is crashing or running slowly.
Email support@octobotstudios.com with your phone model, Android version, the game and what you were doing. Screenshots help.
Delete my data
RetroForged has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. Here is how to remove everything:
- Game progress only: in the app, open Settings › Reset All Progress. It asks first, then clears every game's stars, unlocks and high scores.
- Saves, settings and purchases on your phone: uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings › Apps › RetroForged › Storage › Clear storage. Your Remove Ads purchase stays linked to your Google account and comes back automatically if you reinstall.
- Anonymous gameplay statistics: turn off Settings › Anonymous Stats in the app to stop them at once. Statistics already sent carry only a random number generated on your phone, not your name or any contact details, so we cannot pick out your records. Uninstalling deletes that random number for good. Stored statistics are deleted automatically after 24 months.
- Advertising data: use Privacy Choices in the app's Settings to change your ad consent, and reset your advertising ID in Android Settings › Google › Ads.
